Long of 260 meters, the ship carried a cargo of over 109,501 tons of coal, a feat that consolidates the port’s position as a major hub inMorocco. A Technical Feat at Jorf Lasfar Port
The RIXTA OLDENDORFF arrived from South Africa. It docked at berth 3 of the terminal operated by TAQA. The arrival of a ship of this size with such a cargo represents major operational challenges. From approach maneuvers to unloading, each step required perfect coordination. This was made possible thanks to the modern ASD tugboats of JL TUG company, which allow for greater control over operations.
This feat occurs less than a month after a previous record: on July 16, 2025, the same berth 3 had welcomed the M/V MARATHOS, carrying 103,201 tons of coal. This was already an historic first for Jorf Lasfar.

These successive records are part of a solid growth dynamic for theJorf Lasfar Port. In the first half of 2025, the port recorded a global traffic of 19.9 million tons, up 2.1% from 2024. Solid bulk cargo traffic, at the heart of its activity, soared by 2.4%. Coal imports, a key segment, saw an impressive 9% increase. This confirms Jorf Lasfar’s central role in securing Morocco’s energy supplies.
