AGL and AIPS Africa: Awards for Maghreb Maritime Journalism

Africa Global Logistics (AGL), a leading player in transportation and logistics in Africa, has partnered with the International Sports Press Association (AIPS) – Africa Section, to establish the “AIPS Africa Prize 2023.” This award aims to recognize journalistic works that highlight the social and economic impacts of the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), the continent’s premier football competition. The “AIPS Africa Prize 2023” also seeks to promote sports, particularly football, as a factor for inclusion and social cohesion in Africa.

The award features four categories: print media, television, radio, and web. To participate, candidates must submit works published or broadcast between January 1, 2023, and January 20, 2024, in a recognized and publicly accessible media outlet. The works must be original, relevant, creative, and adhere to professional ethics. A jury composed of prominent figures from the media and sports sectors in Africa will select one winner per category, along with special mentions if deemed necessary. The winners will be announced at an official ceremony scheduled for January 25, 2024, in Abidjan. They will receive trophies, certificates, and cash prizes amounting to 1,500 euros per category, provided by AGL.

Our support for CAF and this partnership with the ‘AIPS Africa Prize’ reflect our commitment to promoting and celebrating Africa’s rich sporting heritage, a mission we consider essential for inspiring and uniting young people across the continent,” stated Asta-Rosa Cissé, Regional Director for Côte d’Ivoire-Burkina at AGL.

The presentation of the award and the participation rules are attached to this announcement. For more information about the “AIPS Africa Prize 2023,” please contact AIPS Africa at bestofafrica@gmail.com or visit AGL’s website.
