Extension of call at Southampton: impact on Tanger Med

In order to maintain the fluidity of its service,CMA CGMannounces an important change for its SAFRAN line. Due to the persistent congestion at London Gateway port, the temporary call at Southampton is extended for four additional voyages in September 2025. This decision directly impacts the rotation that includes Tanger Med port.


A call extension at Southampton for fluidity

Initially planned for a three-month duration, the replacement of London Gateway port (GBLGP) by that of Southampton (GBSOU) is extended. This allows CMA CGM to continue providing a reliable service between Northern Europe and the East Coast of South America. The company has communicated the schedule of the four concerned voyages :

  • September 2025 :Four calls are planned at Southampton, respectively on the 4th, 11th, 18th and 25th of September.

The goods destined for London Gateway will thus be unloaded at Southampton. Clients and partners can expect optimal continuity of service.

The new rotation of the SAFRAN line now passes through Southampton. Here is the updated itinerary :

Southampton→ Rotterdam → Hamburg → Antwerp →Tanger Med→ Santos → Paranagua → Buenos Aires → Montevideo → Rio Grande → Paranagua → Santos →Tanger Med.

This logistical adaptation illustrates the commitment of CMA CGM and its partners to guaranteeing service reliability, despite operational constraints.
