
GNV Invests Again in Fleet Renovation: Order for Four New Ships Signed
Powered by LNG, these will be the largest and most sustainable ships in the Mediterranean, featuring approximately 500 cabins, capable of transporting up to 2,500 passengers, and over 3,500 linear meters of garage space.
The new ships – totaling 8 when including the 4 vessels from the previous order set to be delivered in the coming months – will also play a leading role in the company’s new positioning aimed at strengthening its leadership in the Mediterranean: a new design, services, and a top-tier offering designed to redefine previous standards.
Like the GNV Virgo and GNV Aurora, currently under construction at the same shipyard and expected to arrive by the end of 2025 – 11 months ahead of schedule – the new units will all be powered by LNG and equipped with cutting-edge environmental technologies that will ensure a reduction in CO2 emissions of over 50% per unit transported compared to those of the previous generation.
