Established in 1990, the Rally Aïcha des Gazelles du Maroc is built on values such as environmental commitment and solidarity. It has always been a symbol of courage, self-overcoming, loyalty, mutual aid, and female resilience. This exceptional rally, which returns annually, takes place in the stunning backdrop of the Moroccan desert. It certainly reminds us of the beautiful romance of Aurélie Picard, who married a son of the desert, Sidi Ahmed Tedjani, in the last century, thus becoming the “princess of the desert.” Since then, this beautiful love story set against the picturesque landscape of southern Morocco has inspired many women. The most courageous will come to conquer this fabulous landscape through the Rally Aïcha des Gazelles.
Recognized as a public interest organization since its inception in 2001, the Cœur de Gazelles association relies on the logistics of the Rally Aïcha des Gazelles to implement solidarity projects. It is the only 100% female rally raid in the world certified by the environmental standard ISO 14001:2015.
This year, the event anticipates the participation of400 “Gazelles” forming 200 crews. The unique aspect of these participating crews is that they are made up of women who are not regular rally participants: business leaders, executives, employees, or simple workers… They will cover 1,800 kilometers of tracks through the golden, rocky, and shifting sands of southeastern Morocco. Each day of this rally, from the breathtaking dawn to the sunset with its unique colors specific to this region of Morocco, will be enriched by beautiful adventures and encounters with the welcoming and generous local population. Each day will present its share of challenges and pitfalls, but also joys and challenges. The 200 participants will carry these experiences in their hearts for a long time and will always find great pleasure in recounting them endlessly, never forgetting the images of the landscapes that abound in the infinite ochre of the Moroccan desert.
