New Ship from Nouris El Bahr Ferries: What is its Transport Capacity?
Nouris El Bahr Ferries is preparing to make its entry into the Algerian maritime travel market. The shipping company has announced the arrival of its Polish vessel, the Cracovia.
The private shipping company Nouris El Bahr Ferries has announced a significant advancement in its efforts to establish itself in the Algerian maritime transport market. In a statement published on its official Facebook page, the company confirmed that it has fulfilled its contractual obligations with the Polish shipowner who owns the vessel it has chartered for its upcoming operations in Algeria.
The maritime company specified that the ship, named Cracovia, “will be received at the port of Algiers in the coming days,” marking a decisive step in the launch of its activities. Once this delivery is completed, Nouris El Bahr Ferries plans to provide additional details soon regarding the opening of reservations and the official launch of its services. “Having reached this major milestone, we will soon be able to announce the dates related to the opening of reservations as well as the official start of operations,” the company stated in its announcement.
Nouris El Bahr Ferries will transport up to 650 passengers per crossing
The Cracovia, chartered by Nouris El Bahr Ferries, is an imposing semi-cargo vessel, measuring 180 meters in length and 24.30 meters in width. Built in 2002, it underwent a complete renovation in 2017 under the supervision of Polferries, the leading ferry operator in Poland. This ship is designed to accommodate up to 650 passengers on board, while also having the capacity to transport 64 light vehicles, 98 trucks for long distances, and 26 trucks for shorter routes. With a cruising speed of 16.7 knots, it fully complies with international maritime safety standards, ensuring safe and comfortable crossings.

Currently, the information available regarding the fleet of Nouris El Bahr Ferries remains quite limited. To date, the Cracovia is the only ship whose specifications have been officially revealed and prominently featured on the company’s social media. No other vessels belonging to this fleet have been formally or publicly introduced, suggesting that the Cracovia may initially be the centerpiece of Nouris El Bahr Ferries’ operations.
As a reminder, the projected schedule of Nouris El Bahr Ferries reveals maritime connections between the port of Marseille in France and the ports of Algiers and Béjaïa in Algeria. Additionally, connections will also be established between the port of Alicante in Spain and the Algerian ports of Algiers and Oran.
