Discussion Between the Minister of Land Planning and the Ambassador of Italy in Tunis
As part of efforts to strengthen mutual cooperation and work programs for the upcoming period, Ms. Sarah Zaafrani Zenzari, Minister of Land Planning, Housing, and responsible for managing the Ministry of Transport, welcomed His Excellency Mr. Alessandro Prunas, the Ambassador of Italy to Tunisia, today, Monday, March 18, 2024, at the ministry’s headquarters.
Bilateral Cooperation and Joint Projects
The meeting provided an opportunity for both parties to discuss the state of bilateral cooperation between the two countries and ways to enhance and develop this collaboration. The minister praised the deep-rooted relations between Tunisia and Italy, highlighting the level of cooperation in various fields, particularly in bridges and roads, and emphasized the need to continue joint efforts within a shared vision that benefits both parties.
Role of Italian Companies and Future Prospects
The minister also acknowledged the role of Italian companies in executing numerous infrastructure projects in Tunisia, thereby contributing to the promotion of development and investment. On this occasion, she called for intensifying this cooperation across various areas of land planning and housing, and for leveraging Tunisia’s advantageous geographical position. She also urged for increased exchange of experiences and facilitation of the participation of Tunisian consulting firms and companies, rich in expertise, in the implementation of future joint projects in construction and public works between Tunisia and Italy.
Cooperation in the Transport and Logistics Sector
The meeting also addressed the areas of bilateral cooperation between Tunisia and Italy in the transport and logistics sector, as well as a series of joint projects related to maritime transport and port infrastructure, and reviewed the status of their implementation. The importance of promoting cooperation between the two countries in the transport sector and continuing to develop this vital area was emphasized.

For his part, His Excellency the Ambassador of Tunisia to Italy reaffirmed his country’s commitment to continue supporting bilateral cooperation between the two nations in the fields of land planning, housing, and transport, as well as to strengthen and diversify this cooperation.
