GNV Awards 2025: Maritime Success in Maghreb and New Ships

The sixth edition of GNV Awards recently took place in Valencia, on board the Excelsior, a ferry moored in the port. This annual event, organized by the ferry company of the MSC group, aims to strengthen ties with commercial partners and reward the best travel agencies. Approximately 150 representatives from Italian and international agencies attended this evening dedicated to recognizing exceptional performances.

Satisfying Results for Summer Season 2025

For the summer season 2025, the company recorded a 9% increase in passenger volumes, reaching a total of 1.7 million. Sardinia stands out with a growth of 6%, supported by renovations and digitization improving on-board comfort. Sicily also has a good performance, with a 10% increase, particularly thanks to the Naples-Palermo line and targeted investments.

Launch of GNV Virgo and Sales Opening

During this ceremony, the announcement of the baptism of the new ship GNV Virgo captivated attention. First ship of the company fueled by LNG, it will be delivered shortly in China before joining Italy. The GNV Virgo will be inaugurated on December 11 in the port of Palermo, before starting its operations on the Genoa-Palermo line.

Sales Opening for Summer Season 2026

Sales for summer season 2026 will begin on October 13, 2025. This will be an opportunity for GNV to capitalize on the results of the past season, where Morocco recorded a growth of 6%, thanks to a dedicated fleet and increased local personnel. Tunisia also progressed, with an increase of 8% due to new direct connections improving service quality.

Awards for Travel Agencies

GNV Awards have also allowed several travel agencies to be rewarded. Among the laureates are Forti Viaggi, crowned best emerging travel agent, and OTA Viaggi, distinguished as best tour operator. Other agencies, such as Fes Ferry Tour and SNCM Italia, were praised for their respective performances on Moroccan and Tunisian destinations.

Commitment to Sustainability and Service Improvement

Matteo Della Valle, Chief Commercial Officer of GNV, highlighted the importance of positive results. He explained that the 9% increase is the result of investments in renovation and digitization, making travel more enjoyable. Emphasis is placed on service quality, both in Sardinia and Sicily, where new ships and a strengthened network have stimulated demand.
