Maersk Opens Its First Customs Warehouse in Vietnam

Hai Phong, Vietnam– A.P. Moller – Maersk (Maersk) has announced the opening of its first bonded warehouse in northern Vietnam, located at SLP Park, Nam Dinh Vu IP, in Hai Phong province. This new warehouse, managed by Maersk Contract Logistics, marks a significant advancement in the company’s expansion, addressing the rapid growth in import-export demand in the region.

During the inauguration, Lasse Pedersen Hjortshøj, commercial counselor at the Danish Embassy in Vietnam, expressed his support for the development of international businesses in the country. This bonded warehouse, situated in the strategic port area of Hai Phong, seamlessly integrates into Maersk’s logistics network, notably connecting to the future Lach Huyen terminal in partnership with APM Terminals and Hateco. With this advantageous location, Maersk enhances its storage capabilities and supply chain optimization, providing integrated logistics solutions for reduced costs and improved compliance with customs regulations.

Equipped with advanced technologies to ensure operational efficiency and safety, the warehouse features a modern shelving system, automated sorting, and precise inventory control. To minimize energy consumption, eco-friendly devices such as natural light panels, energy-efficient LEDs, and motion sensors have been installed.

Amazon Vietnam will be the first client to utilize this warehouse, benefiting from inventory management, order fulfillment, customs procedures, and land transportation services. This partnership represents a significant step forward for Maersk in its mission to provide optimal logistics solutions and synchronize processes for its clients.
