The Return of Tunisians from Abroad
🔴 The Prime Minister oversees a ministerial meeting
✅️ Today, Tuesday, April 23, 2024, Prime Minister Ahmed Lashhani chaired a ministerial meeting at the government palace in Kasbah, focusing on the preparations for the return of Tunisians from abroad to their homeland this summer. The meeting was attended by Interior Minister Kamel Al-Faqi, Foreign Affairs, Immigration, and Tunisians Abroad Minister Nabil Ammar, Finance Minister Saham Al-Boughdiri Nemsiya, Social Affairs Minister Malik Al-Zahi, Equipment, Housing, and Transport Management Minister Sarah Al-Zaafarani Al-Zenzari, Tourism Minister Mohamed Al-Moaz Belhassen, as well as the Director General of Customs Zouhair Al-Majri, CEO of Tunisair Khaled Shili, CEO of the Tunisian Navigation Company Farhat Zouaghi, and Director General of Civil Aviation and Airports Montasser Ben Hamida.
In his opening speech, the Prime Minister emphasized the need for enhanced organizational and logistical coordination among all stakeholders to support Tunisians residing abroad. This is accompanied by ongoing rigorous preparations to provide all favorable conditions and high-quality services to ensure the success of their return to the country this summer.
During their opening remarks, the attending ministers expressed their continued commitment to coordinating among various ministerial departments and with all relevant parties to overcome difficulties and tackle challenges to ensure the successful return of Tunisians from abroad this summer.
The Minister of Equipment, Housing, and Transport Management presented data and information regarding preparations in the transport sector for the return of our community abroad. The Finance Minister also informed participants about the planned communication strategy to support them, as well as new applications that will facilitate services intended for them, particularly those related to customs.

✔️ An invitation to the Ministry of the Interior, in coordination with customs services, to establish an electronic platform to expedite the processing of requests for customs exemption (FCR), as well as a call for the government’s legal and legislative services to accelerate the issuance of the bill concerning customs exemption.
✔️ Allocation of 500 Discounted Tickets (200 Tickets on Tunisair…
✔️ Allocation of 500 discounted tickets (200 tickets on Tunisair and 300 tickets on Tunisair) and 400 free tickets (300 tickets on Tunisair and 100 tickets on Tunisair) for underprivileged families in our community abroad.
✔️ The arrangement of an outdoor space reserved for travelers at the port of Halk El Wadi and the doubling of the number of check-in counters from 18 to 36 for the return of the Tunisian community.
✔️ The creation of a special counter for border procedures reserved for individuals with specific needs, the elderly, and pregnant women.
✔️ The establishment of a dedicated space for issuing travel documents for our citizens abroad within the General Directorate of Border Police and Foreigners.
✔️ The creation of offices for the acceptance and issuance of passports at Tunis-Carthage Airport and the ports of Halk El Wadi and Jerjis.
✔️ An invitation to Tunisian customs services to reduce traveler waiting times by working on dedicated lanes for travelers without luggage.
✔️ The enhancement of sanitation services at the port of Halk El Wadi.
✔️ An invitation to the Ministry of Communication Technologies to strengthen technical surveillance services for technological devices in ports and airports.
✔️ An invitation to the Ministry of Transport to enhance the air conditioning system in airports and to utilize Terminal 2 of Tunis-Carthage Airport during peak periods.
✔️ An invitation to the Ministry of Transport to provide logistical infrastructure for passenger transport to and from the capital center (Airport Shuttle).
