
TOC Africa 2023: A Must-Attend Maritime Summit in Tanger Med
The Tanger Med group has kicked off the second edition of TOC Africa. This summit, organized in partnership with TOC Worldwide, brings together over 400 influential players from the maritime and logistics sectors. The discussions, which began on September 17, focus on energy transition, digitalization, and African integration.
This two-day event attracts participants from 66 countries, including 41 African nations. This confirms the position of Tanger Med as a catalyst for major continental and international reflections. During the inaugural session, the General Director of the Special Agency Tanger Med, Mehdi Tazi Riffi, emphasized the importance of this meeting in light of the major challenges facing the industry.
The discussions cover several strategic issues:
- The role of African ports in global trade. International Maritime Organization
- The role of logistics corridors for intra-African trade. African Development Bank
- Adaptation to climate change and digital transition. United Nations Environment Programme
- New environmental regulations.
In parallel with the debates, an exhibition highlights the latest innovations. Participants can discover the equipment and technologies that are transforming the port landscape. With over 50 international speakers and about twenty port authorities present, TOC Africa is establishing itself as an essential meeting point for envisioning the future of African maritime trade and logistics. The goal is to strengthen cooperation networks and discuss common challenges.
