The General Director of the national passenger maritime transport company, Abdelhakim Bouzaher, presented the company’s forecasts for the summer on Wednesday before the Transport and Telecommunications Commission of the National People’s Assembly (APN).

Algeria Ferries Increases Its Crossings for Summer 2024
In detail, the General Director of Algeria Ferries indicated that the company anticipates an increase of 63,900 passengers during the next summer season. Additionally, there will be a 19% rise in the number of vehicles transported aboard its ships during the same period.
As a result, the number of crossings planned by the national maritime company for next summer is expected to reach 292 trips, compared to 243 crossings operated last summer. Furthermore, to accommodate all its passengers, Algeria Ferries plans to enhance its fleet.
The National Company for Maritime Passenger Transport (ENMTV), which already owns four vessels, will charter another ship to bolster its passenger transport capacity starting next February. Abdelhakim Bouzaher noted that this new vessel has a capacity of 1,650 berths and 450 vehicles.
Regarding the four ships currently servicing routes to France, Italy, and Spain, they will undergo periodic renovation and maintenance work in preparation for the 2024 summer season to ensure passenger safety.
Additionally, during his speech before the APN Transport Commission, the General Director of Algeria Ferries announced the upcoming opening of two ticket sales agencies in the wilayas of Algiers and Oran.
