
Summer 2024: Algeria Ferries Alters Schedule for 10 Crossings
The end of the summer season is turning chaotic for Algérie Ferries. Passengers of the national maritime company are struggling to board the ferries to reach their respective destinations due to numerous changes made to its summer schedule.
Unfortunately, the national carrier has issued a new statement announcing a fresh wave of delays affecting trips scheduled for August 2024.
Crossings to Alicante Delayed
In a new announcement posted on its website, Algérie Ferries has revealed a further schedule change occurring during this peak period when Algerian immigrants are planning their return to their countries of residence.
This new change affects 10 crossings to Marseille and Alicante scheduled for the last week of August 2024. The updated travel schedule to and from Alicante is as follows:
- Delay of the Alicante – Oran crossing, initially scheduled for August 19, now set for August 24 at 19:00, aboard the Tassili II;
- Change of destination for the Oran – Alicante crossing on August 20. Affected passengers will be redirected to the Ghazaouet – Almeria and Oran – Almeria trips of Trasmediterranée on August 24 and 25, 2024;
- Change of destination for the Alicante – Algiers crossing on August 21. It will now operate to the port of Oran on August 24, 2024, at 19:00, aboard the Tassili II;
- The Algiers – Alicante crossing on August 22 will now head to Marseille at 19:00, aboard the El Djazair II;
- The Alicante – Algiers trip on August 23 will be replaced by the Alicante – Oran crossing on August 24 at 19:00 aboard the Tassili II.
Crossings to Marseille Affected
Additionally, Algérie Ferries has announced the postponement of several crossings scheduled from the ports of Oran, Algiers, and Bejaia to Marseille. The new schedule is as follows:
- Delay of the Oran – Marseille crossing, initially set for August 20, 2024, now rescheduled for August 21 at 12:00, aboard the Tassili II;
- Delay of the return Marseille – Oran crossing from August 20 to August 22 at 17:00;
- Change of destination for the Marseille – Bejaia trip on August 20. It will now operate to the capital, Algiers, on August 21 at 19:00;
- Change of destination for the Bejaia – Marseille crossing on August 21. It will be replaced by the Algiers – Marseille trip, operating on August 22 at 18:00;
- The Marseille – Oran crossing, originally scheduled for August 23, will be moved up to August 22, 2024, at 17:00.

This new change affects 10 crossings to Marseille and Alicante scheduled for the last week of August 2024. The updated travel schedule to and from Alicante is as follows:
- Delay of the Alicante – Oran crossing, initially scheduled for August 19, now set for August 24 at 19:00, aboard the Tassili II;
