Algeria Ferries: The General Director Unveils the Summer Season Program

The national maritime passenger transport company,Algeria Ferries, continues its efforts as part of the strategy implemented to successfully execute its program for the month of Ramadan and the summer season. In fact, it has recently announced the chartering of a new vessel for a duration of one month to strengthen its fleet.

The Greek ship will facilitate maritime transport for travelers to and fromAlgeriaduring the second half of Ramadan and throughout the Eid celebration, as confirmed by the General Director of Algeria Ferries, Abdelhakim Bouzaher.

A Special Program for the Algerian Community Abroad

During a press conference held at the headquarters of the ENTMV in Algiers, the General Director reminded attendees of the launch of promotions that allow for savings of up to 50% on Algeria Ferries ticket prices. It is worth noting that the offer announced at the beginning of the holy month is expected to extend ten days after the Eid El Fitr celebration, specifically until April 24, 2024.

Furthermore, while discussing the program for this holy month, Bouzaher reported that his company has scheduled 87 crossings to transport a total of 134,800 travelers and 38,250 vehicles. This represents an increase of 16 additional crossings.

As part of the measures taken by Algeria Ferries to enhance its services, the General Director highlighted the positive reception of the two agencies in Oran and Algiers dedicated to families.

Enhanced Summer Program

Regarding ticket sales for members of the diaspora in Europe, Abdelhakim Bouzaher indicated that the operation is proceeding under favorable conditions, while mentioning « peak transaction periods, » notably recorded on February 2 (5,618 transactions) and March 18, 2024 (1,839 transactions).

Moreover, regarding Algeria Ferries’ summer program, the General Director recalled the chartering of the Moby Dada ship to enhance the company’s fleet, which can accommodate over 1,600 passengers and more than 450 vehicles.

This fleet enhancement has enabled the scheduling of up to 126 crossings to Alicante in Spain and 26 additional trips departing from the ports of Oran and Algiers to Barcelona. Between Algiers and Marseille, Algeria Ferries has planned a total of 171 crossings from June to September 2024. On the Skikda – Genoa route in Italy, the maritime carrier plans to operate up to 16 crossings during the upcoming summer season.
