With an ambitious strategic plan aimed at achieving a 40% reduction in CO2 emissions by 2030, CORSICA linea has successfully reduced its CO2 emissions per nautical mile traveled by 8% in 2023 compared to 2022.

From the outset of its history and in line with its environmental policy, CORSICA linea has actively worked towards decarbonizing its operations by accelerating the greening of its fleet. In 2023, CORSICA linea’s commitment intensifies with the implementation of a significant environmental transition plan, combining operational efficiency of its vessels (including extended crossing times to reduce navigation speeds, optimized port stay durations, etc.), energy efficiency across the entire fleet (through a technical action plan aimed at enhancing the energy performance of the ships), and energy transition by exploring alternative decarbonized fuels (LNG and its bio alternative, methanol, biodiesel…).

A Significant Reduction in CO2 Emissions Observed in 2023!
In order to proactively address the constantly evolving regulatory challenges and achieve our ambitious goals for energy and environmental transition, several projects and initiatives have already been implemented thanks to the investment of all our teams in 2023.With a recorded decrease of 4% in total emissions despite the addition of an extra vessel and an 8% reduction in the amount of CO2 emitted by CORSICA linea per distance traveled, the numerous projects initiated are already bearing fruit.
