The company GNV confirms its establishment in Morocco

GNV, one of the leading shipping companies in the world, presented on Thursday in Tangier the measures taken to support the « Marhaba 2024 » operation, along with the numerous arrangements put in place to ensure comfortable travel conditions for passengers.

During a press conference in Tangier, GNV outlined the prospects and various new features for the Morocco destination. The company also reaffirmed its commitment to support, in collaboration with the highest authorities of the Kingdom of Morocco, including the Mohammed V Foundation, the Ministry of Transport, and all other relevant stakeholders, the success of the significant operation for welcoming and transporting Moroccans living abroad, Marhaba 2024.

In 2023, over 450,000 passengers traveled aboard GNV’s ships, the world’s largest carrier in terms of passenger capacity, on routes to Morocco, with the goal of increasing this number through the acquisition of four new vessels.

Matteo Catani, CEO of GNV, stated that Morocco is the company’s top international market, with a growth rate twice as fast (+26%) compared to other destinations.

This is why GNV has implemented new measures to facilitate and enhance the journey to and from Morocco, as highlighted by Mohammed Kabbaj, GNV’s partner in Morocco. Additionally, the company announced the imminent opening of a second office in Morocco, specifically in Nador.

“We are aligning our development with a collaborative approach that commits us daily to follow the guidelines of the merchant navy – our supervising administration – and the Mohammed V Foundation, which coordinates the Marhaba operation and is always present in the ports and on our ships. We are also ready to launch a long-term development program aimed at further improving our services and hospitality on board,” emphasized the executive.

For her part, Carole Montarsolo, GNV’s commercial manager for the Morocco destination, assures that GNV teams are attentive to hospitality and service quality on board, generally in line with the Marhaba operation. “This is why we have invested in revising all the menus for bars, self-service areas, and onboard restaurants with products tailored to our clientele (halal) and enhanced family services (family lounge), by introducing musical performances on board and renovating prayer rooms,” she highlighted.

Regarding personnel, the increase in the number of local professionals on board the ships is consistent year after year, she also noted.
