Baleària Strengthens Its Presence in Morocco with Remarkable Growth

The Spanish shipping companyBaleàriais experiencing positive momentum on its routes toMorocco, recording a 12% increase in passenger traffic in 2024. With one million travelers and over 276,000 vehicles transported, the operator confirms its strategic positioning on maritime routes connecting Europe and Africa.

Freight transport is also following an upward trend, rising by 7% to reach 2.2 million linear meters, equivalent to 150,000 trucks. This growth is accompanied by a 6% increase in revenue, reaching 691 million euros, while EBITDA rises by 11% to settle at 130 million euros.

Passenger transport remains the primary source of revenue, accounting for 61% of total revenue, compared to 35% for freight. Furthermore,Baleàriacontinues to reduce its carbon footprint, with a 3.3% decrease in emissions per nautical mile and a 9.5% reduction per passenger, primarily due to better fleet management and increased use of natural gas.

With the imminent launch of theTanger VilleTarifaroute, the company aims to establish the first green maritime corridor between Europe and Africa. This project aligns with its sustainable development strategy and underscores the importance of Morocco in its growth vision.
