Deep Water Port Project of Enfidha: A Strategic Advancement

On Friday, October 18, 2024, the Minister of Transport, Mr. Rachid Amri, chaired a working meeting to discuss various scenarios aimed at realizing the Enfidha deep-water port project. This meeting also included the participation of Mr. Chokri Amiri, who is responsible for managing the Enfidha Port Company, along with several officials from the ministry and the company.

During this session, the minister emphasized the strategic importance of this project, which encompasses not only the port but also the adjacent logistics service area. This initiative is envisioned as a major lever to meet Tunisia’s foreign trade needs while adhering to international standards of quality and efficiency.

The Enfidha deep-water port will play a crucial role in attracting both foreign and domestic investments, thereby creating new job opportunities. Furthermore, it will contribute to food security in Tunisia by facilitating the import and export of goods at lower costs. The port’s infrastructure will help reduce the additional fees often incurred by products when passing through other ports.
