As a deep-water port, the Port of Mohammedia meets the requirements of the oil sector, featuring a significant water depth at the oil terminal (17 m) and facilities that comply with current safety and security standards, including the ISPS code.

History and Transformation:

Established in 1913 as a fishing port, it has evolved into a major oil hub since the establishment of Samir in 1961. Successive expansions since the 1970s have enhanced its capacity to accommodate larger vessels.

Infrastructure Development:

Over the years, the Port of Mohammedia has seen the construction of three sea-lines to meet the growing demands of the oil sector, with varying depths to accommodate tankers of different capacities.

Ongoing Expansion:

The port’s expansion, following the growth of Samir, culminated in the completion of the oil terminal in 1987, along with berths A and B covering 22 hectares of land, and a 450 m access jetty to the terminal.
