In 2022, Moroccan ports experienced an increase in overall port traffic, rising from 192.1 million tons in 2021 to 195 million tons in 2022, marking a growth of 1.5%. Domestic traffic reached 110.1 million tons (-1.2%), while transshipment amounted to 84.8 million tons, up 5.3% compared to 2021.

The Tangier Med port complex reaffirmed its status as a major logistics platform in the Mediterranean basin, handling 84.8 million tons in 2022, reflecting a growth of 5.3%. This increase is attributed to the rise in container transshipment volume (81.6 million tons, +5.3%) and hydrocarbons (3.1 million tons, +8.3%).
