As part of the implementation of measures to ensure the success of Operation « Marhaba 2023, » the Ministry of Transport and Logistics wishes to inform the public that transit is proceeding efficiently at Moroccan ports. From June 5 to July 31, 2023, over 1.2 million travelers and 280,000 vehicles passed through these ports, representing an increase of 21% for passengers and 14% for vehicles compared to the same period last year.

Furthermore, during the days of July 29, 30, and 31, 2023, the ports of the Kingdom experienced a significant influx upon entry, recording 117,042 passengers and 29,078 vehicles.

We have mobilized the necessary resources to facilitate the transport of Moroccans residing abroad and have diversified maritime routes. Additionally, we regularly monitor the quality of onboard services and the oversight of maritime travel fares.

Regarding the return phase, which will begin soon, to ensure smooth and safe transit, we recommend that all travelers wishing to return to their country of residence book their tickets in advance, specifying the date and time of travel. This recommendation applies to all maritime routes, including Tangier Med – Algeciras and Tangier City – Tarifa. Should there be a need to change the travel date indicated on the ticket, we encourage you to contact the relevant company in advance before arriving at the port to avoid any potential congestion.
