To support (i) the efforts made in developing the infrastructure of the Port of Casablanca and (ii) the observed evolution of the characteristics of vessels calling at this port, the ANP has initiated, in collaboration with the operators of the towing activity, a project to modernize the port’s tugboat fleet.
This project aims to implement high-performance equipment based on the latest technologies in the field, ensuring better fluidity and safety of vessel movements within the port area.
In this context, two new ASD (Azimuth Stern Drive) tugboats were delivered to the Port of Casablanca in September 2023, to strengthen the fleet of service units at the port. These new tugboats have a minimum towing capacity of 60 tons and can maneuver in all directions thanks to their steerable propulsion technology, enhancing the efficiency of towing operations.
